Parade Marshals

Ed & Chris Burlingame

The 2017 parade marshal honor will be shared by Ed & Chris Burlingame, a deserving couple whose faces are very familiar at our Fair.

This cowboy is from a pioneering family in the Walla Walla Valley and is the 4th generation to be raised on the family farm. He has been participating on these grounds from the time he was a youth showing livestock as a member of FFA. He attended Washington State University and has spent his life farming and in the equipment business. He served on the Walla Walla Fair & Frontier Days Board of Directors for nine years as the Rodeo Director and has sponsored the Fair through his business venture for several years.

The “better half” of this union wasn’t raised around here, but she has been around our area most of her adult life serving as a club leader and very active with many youth organizations. She is an attorney in Milton-Freewater, serves on numerous community & show boards and works tirelessly as a volunteer for many non-profit entities.

Together, they have four children, six grandchildren - many of whom are with us tonight. They enjoy spending time with and supporting their grandchildren’s activities and traveling.

The Burlingame's have generously and avidly participated and volunteered at the Fair for many years including working in the arena, supporting the youth market sale, providing hospitality at the Fair, escorting on Education Day and just helping anywhere throughout the grounds where they can lend a hand.

We are thankful for their generosity and participation throughout the years!
