Meet Our 2025 Parade Marshals

LORA & CHRIS KREGGER

Chris and Lora Kregger have participated in county fairs and agriculture all their lives. Lora showed at a young age, alongside her younger brother while living on a ranch on the Central Coast of California. Chris grew up and worked alongside his parents on their family farm in Touchet. They met while attending Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, married and moved back to Touchet, Washington where they raised three children who showed beef and sheep as well as jackpots and shows around the pacific northwest.

Chris was the original sheep superintendent for the Walla Walla Fair & Frontier Days in the mid-1970’s and had judged the forage and seeds department in the Pavilion for 30 years. Lora has been a Touchet 4-H leader & resource leader from 1976 until 2008. She was the official superintendent for many decades with Chris there to help her. It is very difficult to do volunteering without the support and backing from your spouse and family, both financially and physically. Lora currently volunteers talking with kids in the Kid’s Center during fair. The Kregger family is “all in” when it comes to the Walla Walla Fair and Frontier Days.

Lora was instrumental in the creation of the Dash for Cash game and other activities. The scavenger hunts still run throughout the fair grounds for kids in the livestock barns. The games are open to all livestock exhibitors. Lora was great about having an ice chest for the exhibitors with water and pops much of which was donated by her asking businesses in the community. As the games expanded, she went out and got donations for prizes. Chris and Lora both truly care about the KIDS in the barns.

Chris and Lora’s family continue this in-depth involvement through their grandsons and daughter-in-law in the sheep barn, concession stands and various booths at the fair. As an adult, their eldest son showed his Columbia sheep. Their eldest grandson is currently a student working at the sheep center at the University of Idaho.

The Kreggers keep up with new trends and styles of sheep. They raise lambs to sell to the 4-H and FFA exhibitors and have done so for many years. They mentor and give advice when a new or any 4-H of FFA student asks for help.

Lora and Chris are great supporters of the Livestock Market Sale and its exhibitors. They are part of the Touchet pool buyers and buy livestock for their own freezer. The Kregger family have enjoyed their box seats at the derby and rodeo for decades.

Chris and Lora Kregger are the definition of outstanding supporters of your great county fair. The Walla Walla Fair & Frontier Days Board of Directors are pleased to have Chris and Lora Kregger as our 2025 Parade Marshals.
